Child Care Providers- Like to upgrade your child care skills and knowledge? Research shows that children in child care have better outcomes when their providers are well-trained. Family Connections offers at least 50 short-term trainings per year for the child care workforce in our commitment to increasing the quality of child care available to families. Classes are offered generally in the evenings or on Saturdays.
Training is designed to meet your need for practical information. You can earn a college certificate or degree. Class hours can be counted toward the Child Development Associate (CDA), a national credential, and can also be applied to one of LBCC's degree programs in Child and Family Studies or Education. Parent and Family Educators- Parent Education is recognized as a community strategy for helping to strengthen families. A Parent Educator Training class is offered to increase the availability and accessibility of high quality parent education in a variety of community settings - faith institutions, schools, agencies, and organizations.
