     Family Connections offers a variety of FREE services to Child Care Providers:
  • Referrals to your business to families seeking child care
  • Assistance starting up your child care business
  • Ongoing child care advice and support
  • Newsletter that includes low-cost training opportunities especially for child care providers, business suggestions, ideas for children's activities, information on regulation, and more
  • Help with the state pay system
  • Advocacy at local, state and national levels for child care and child care providers
  • Certificate and degree programs

Getting Started-
The State of Oregon Child Care Division regulates child care in Oregon. If you care for more than 3 children in your home, you are required to register with the Child Care Division. To become registered, providers need:

  • Current 1st aid/infant-child CPR card
  • Current food handler's permit
  • To attend a class on recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect
  • To attend a Child Care Division Overview class
  • A home health review with a child care specialist from the State
