"I love working with students. I started teaching in 1997 after graduating with my BA in English. I have been teaching English Language Learners since 2008, and I graduated with my MA TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in 2010. Since then I've taught at Portland Community College, Mt. Hood Community College, Neighborhood House, Portland State University, University of California, Berkeley Extension, and INTO OSU. I have taught many different levels of students from many different countries, and I have taught immigrants, refugees, and international students.

I love to read. Jane Austen and Barbara Kingsolver are two favorites, but there are so many! Lately I've been reading Clarissa Pinkola Estes' book Women Who Run With the Wolves. I enjoy writing too, and I write in my journal almost every day. In my free time I also play guitar, cook, and hike. In all that I do, what I value the most is being compassionate to myself and others.

I look forward to working with you!"
