- Why Go into Geology
Why Should You Go into Earth Science?
Do you like working outside? Are you interested in natural hazards, energy resources, or cleaning up the environment? If so, a geology degree is for you. Earth is a geologist's laboratory. Geologists study the process of rock formation, climate evolution and change, mountain building, land surface evolution, and mineral resource creation over the Earth's 4.6 billion-year history. LBCC works closely with the Department of Geosciences at Oregon State University, which ranks as one of the top universities to study geology. Additionally, job demand in the geosciences is high, making geology a great career option.
