Additional Resources

Students will use Snap-On Tools that are supplied by LBCC at the Advanced Transportation Technology Center (ATTC) and at the Albany campus.  All students entering the program will be assessed a $1200 tool fee per term during the first year of the program (3 terms, for a total of $3600).  Upon successful completion of all first-year program classes (or equivalent credits due to open class sequence) with a grade of C or better, students earn their choice of two Snap-On Tool options:

OPTION 1:

9200AGSO US set 2 Snap-On Tool set, an EEDM504D Dvom, and the KRA2007FPBO Snap-On red tool box.  The retail value of this set is over $6,700.

OPTION 2:

SEPPRECOMB and an EEDM504D Dvom (no tool box with this set).  The retail value of this tool set is just under $6,700.

LBCC HE/Diesel students may purchase additional Snap-On tools with a student discount through Bill Overall (contact information is below).  Impact sockets and air tools are highly recommended and are not included in either of these tool options.

Students who fail or drop out of the program will be awarded a partial tool voucher in the amount of $790 for each tool course fee that has been collected by Linn-Benton Community College.  To qualify for a partial tool voucher, the student must make arrangements with Bryan Schiedler (ATTC) within one (1) term of their last automotive class.  In cases of EXTREME hardship, a partial tool refund can be considered through a petition process that can be initiated through the Admissions Office in Takena Hall at the Albany campus.

Tool vouchers can be redeemed by contacting Bill Overall, Snap-On Industrial Tools:  503/425-9630 (phone), 503/650-7405 (fax), or william.b.overall@snapon.com .
