Player Named to NWAC's 2015 All-Academic team
Trever Cooley, guard, was selected for NWAC's 2015 All-Academic team. Trever, a Criminal Justice major with a 3.61 GPA, is a graduate of Tillamook High School.
"Receiving the All-Academic award was cool. I always try my best in school, and LBCC is great for the one-on-one attention and after class help. I got offers from universities, but I really felt like the community college gave me more options to grow academically. Being an athlete can be tough in that you are traveling to games, and sometimes you get back home late at night and you have an 8 a.m. math class, but you just got to get up and go. The best thing you can do academically is go to class and pay attention. Time management is a big deal. Sometimes I only have a couple of hours of sleep. You just have to figure out when you can get your work done. Maybe it means you can’t go hang out with your friends, or watch another game. You just have to plan your time well, and don’t procrastinate."
Do you have a favorite mantra that you say before each game? "My mom always texts me 'MOAM' before a game, which stands for Man on a Mission. That keeps me going."
