Writing classes are required for all LBCC degrees and some certificates, including writing 121, 122 and 123. LBCC offers options to help students be successful in their college writing courses.
Located in the Learning Center on each LBCC campus, tutors in the Writing Center support students with one-on-one tutoring. You can receive help with everything from generating ideas for college papers, overcoming writer's block, applying for scholarships, preparing class presentations, documenting research materials, or just organizing and developing your thoughts. Online Writing Lab (OWL)
The Online Writing Lab, or OWL, is a place where students can submit their writing electronically. You do not have to be enrolled in a writing class to benefit from OWL services. Help is available for any academic assignment, scholarship essay, job application, or even personal work. Although papers will not be proofread through OWL, tutors do work with you to revise your writing work, make comments on the style and structure of your writing, and point you to helpful campus and writing resources. Program in Writing (ALP)
If you tested into Writing 95, you could develop your college writing skills in a single term, skipping two terms of classes plus save money. Find out more about the Accelerated Learning Program in Writing (ALP)!
