New Art Project on Campus: Poetry Birdhouses, Building Community
Take a walk and check out five amazing Poetry Birdhouses by local artists and poets in our LBCC Albany campus courtyard! The poetry birdhouses have been transformed with artistic approaches of paint, ceramics, metal or collage. The houses all have poems attached on the inside of the door and a journal for viewers to write poems or comments - or draw. Artists: Rachel Urista, Robert Dudenhoefer, Kerry McFall, Deian Moore, Alexis Spakoski. Poets: Carol Ann Lantz, J.D. Mackenzie, Linda Gelbrich, Ann Staley, Marjorie Power
The Poetry Birdhouse, Building Community project was made possible by the LBCC Arts & Aesthetics Team (AART) with generous support from the Linn County Cultural Trust.
Over 1,000 students from 17 schools visited LBCC to see the Annual Children's Play and tour the Poetry Birdhouses. Five artists painted birdhouses as part of the new art project spearheaded by Victoria Fridley and M'Liss Runyon of the AART.
