Learning and Career Center

The Learning and Career Center (LCC), located in BC-222, provides a wealth of services to support student learning and provides students with academic support and a comfortable place to study.

Monday-Thursday: 9 am - 8 pm
Friday: 9 am - 4 pm

December 12 & 19: Closed
December 15-18, 29-30, January 2: 9 am - 5 pm

ACCESS TO LCC SERVICES

To use our services, you must be registered for an LBCC class.
Sign-in at the check-in computer each time you use the LCC.

COUNSELING AND ADVISING

Counselors are available to provide academic advising, career and crisis counseling, and international student advising. Call 541-757-8944 x5101 to make an appointment or for drop-in hours. Personal assessment inventories (i.e. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory) are available, as well as placement test interpretation and referrals to other resources.

CAREER PLANNING

A Career and Employment Specialist is available for assistance with career exploration, job search, online resources, resume writing, interviewing, student employment and general financial aid and college information. Call 541-757-8944 x5101 to make an appointment or for drop-in hours.

TESTING

The LCC includes a quiet testing area where a variety of testing services are available. These include: the CPT (Computerized Placement Test), math modules, and proctored tests, both for LBCC and other schools' courses. Call for a testing appointment and for important information on what to bring with you to your test.

COMPUTER AVAILABLILTY

Computers are available to registered students for research and student projects. LCC staff is available to help with any questions. Loaded with the Windows 7 operating system, the computers offer a wide variety of software programs including: 

  • Microsoft Office 2013 Pro Suite
  • Open Office 3.0
  • Corel Wordperfect12
  • Internet Research; Student Email and Registration (WebRunner)
  • Access to LBCC Online Library Resources
  • Career Information System
  • SQL Food Processor Program; Nutrition program

STUDENT PRINTING 

You will need to set up a 1Card Student Printing account to be able to print in LBCC Computer Labs. It's easy -- just follow the directions below. There is no charge to print, but please use college printer and paper resources wisely. For more information, go here

  • Go to https://1card.linnbenton.edu 
  • Enter your Student Printing account number. It will be one of the following:
    • your LBCC ID 'X' number -- except the X is substituted with a 0 (zero).  Example:  X00001789 = 000001789
    • your DPP dual-enrollment '93' number
  • Choose a 4-digit pin number.
  • Select "Submit".

 

STUDY AREA

The LCC offers a comfortable place to study or work on assignments with access to computers, printer, copier and scanner.

You are welcome to eat and drink in the LCC study area except at computer stations. Please turn your cell phone off or to vibrate and take cell phone conversations outside.

PHOTO IDs

Pictures are taken in the LCC for your LBCC Student ID card. Pay $10 at the Registration Office counter. Bring photo ID & registration receipt to the LCC.
