The Ceramics program at the Benton Center offers you an opportunity to learn a wide range of clay skills and firing techniques.

Ceramics Classes:

  • Art 154-Ceramics I
  • Art 254-Ceramics II
  • Clay Exploration
  • Handbuilding for Success
  • Tile & Raku 


Open Studio Hours

Students who are registered in a current term ceramics class may use the studio during Open Studio Hours. This does not apply to students registered for Adaptive Handbuilding and workshops.

Location: The Benton Center Ceramics Studio is housed in room BC-140. Click here for a Map.


Facility: The studio is state-of-the-art and includes:

  • stoneware kilns
  • raku kilns
  • electric kilns for bisque
  • salt kilns
  • motorized and kick wheels   

Materials
Clay can be purchased on-site at the Benton Center Bookstore. Purchase a voucher at the bookstore window and present it to your instructor to retrieve your clay. Re-cycled clay can be purchased at the Benton Center Registration counter.
