Student Scholarship Information

Scholarship checks from private donors such as local service clubs or businesses may be sent to LBCC Business Office. Scholarships can be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies and/or living expenses unless restricted by the terms of the scholarship donor.

The funds must be received by LBCC before it can be credited to the students financial aid accounts.

The business office does not bill donors for scholarships.  If the student or donor wants to be billed, they would be considered a third party. The contract & guidelines for third party billing would apply. Third party billings do not verify credit hours or grades.

Ideally, the scholarship should arrive in advance of the student's registration. To ensure accurate and timely processing, student information should accompany the check. A donor letter providing guidelines may be obtained at the cashier window or downloaded from the LBCC Student Accounts Receivable Services web page. The donor letter outlines the information that should be provided to the business office with the funds.

If the funds do not arrive in advance, the student should fill out a credit application and pay the required down payment by the tuition due date in order to avoid late fees.

Students requiring verification of enrollment & registration should be directed to Admissions. Admissions will send a letter to the donor after the student has been admitted and registered for classes.  Admissions asks them to provide a pre- addressed envelope for this purpose.
