Biological Sciences

Biology courses provide students the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills that relate to life processes, the diversity of life, and the roles and responsibilities of humans in the natural environment.

Some Biology courses fulfill requirements in certificate programs such as Nursing or Medical Technology, while others are designed for Biology majors who will transfer to four-year institutions to pursue degrees in:

  • Medicine
  • Forestry
  • Fisheries and Wildlife
  • Genetics
  • or similar fields

The Biology Department offers many courses for students to fulfill their perspectives or science requirements. A few courses, such as Nature Photography and Crater Lake Ecology, are offered for those with vocational interests in biology.
