Student Services

LBCC has many services designed to make it easier for students to succeed in college.   These services are briefly outlined in the Annual Catalog and in the printed Schedule of Classes.     The front section of the Student Handbook also  has a good listing of these services and more information is also available on the Internet at www.linnbenton.edu/go/roadrunner-central.

Career & Counseling Service & Student Employment Center  

Located by the main entrance to the College (Takena Hall) 917-4780.    You can get academic, personal, and career counseling in this office.   There are job listings and they can help you with a formal job search when you graduate.    They will also offer help on Resume writing and Interview skills.   We recommend you sign up for the LBCC Student Employment Job Board.    Tiffany Castillo is available to help you with most of these services.    Call 917-4782 to set up an appointment with her. 

LBCC Student Photo ID

You should have a valid LBCC student photo identification card for many of the services on campus, including the library, the Business Affairs Office, Assessment Center, Learning Center and the bookstore.   You do not need to be a full-time student in order to obtain an ID card and this ID will allow you FREE BUS SERVICES and alternate transportation.   ID cards are issued at the Admissions Office on the Albany campus, at the Benton Center in Corvallis, at the Lebanon Center and at the Sweet Home Center.   There is a one-time fee of $10; each term you register, your card will be revalidated at no charge.

Financial Aid Office

Go to Takena Hall 119 or call 917-4850.   They have many publications available on display in Takena Hall to help you discover what types of financial aid are available.   The first step is to fill out the “Free Application for Federal Student Aid”.    Look for the yellow form displayed in Takena Hall for help and instructions.    Financial Aid takes time and requires paperwork but may be well worth your effort.

Veteran Support Services

Linn-Benton Community College welcomes and supports veterans who have served, or are currently serving in the United States Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.   Gus L. Bedwell serves as the LBCC Veterans Service Officer. He is at LBCC every Monday in Takena Hall T-111 (in back of Admissions Office) from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. You can also contact him at 1-800-828-8801.  : The Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs website is at www.oregon.gov/odva

Family Resources  & Family Connections

Family connections is a good resource for help with childcare and parenting issues.   Call 917-4899 or 800-845-1363.

Computer Lab

Free use of computers is available at several locations on and off campus.     Computer labs are sometimes full, especially at the end of the quarter.   Afternoons is the best time to have easy access to computers.    Please sign in when using the computer labs this helps to fund new equipment.   You can find many Computers On Campus in the Forum Building F-202  (enter through F-204) and in the Learning Resource Center in Willamette Hall.   LBCC also has many Computers Off Campus in Sweet Home 367-6901, Lebanon 451-1014, and the Benton Center in Corvallis  757-8944.

Free Money

Automotive Technology Student Scholarship Opportunities list many scholarships that you are likely to qualify for.   The LBCC Scholarship Database is constantly updated to list a wide variety of scholarship opportunities. Tiffany Castillo is available to help you with scholarship applications.    Call 917-4782 to set up an appointment with her.

Free e-mail

Each student has access to an e-mail account.   You can access your e-mail in the campus library, your home computer, or in any of the computer labs.   Go to www.linnbenton.edu/apply/  to set up your e-mail account.

Library

The library is a good place to study and has computer stations for Internet research and free e-mail.   The Albany Public Library also has the Mitchel On-Demand program available for your weekend vehicle repair projects.

Learning Center

Study Skill Development,  Reading Writing and Math improvement, help with word processing and getting used to the computers are all services offered at the Learning Center.    Mini classes are available such as “how to read a text book”   “speed reading” and “Taking lecture notes”.   You can sign up any time and work at your own pace.    This is also a great place to hang out and study.   It is located above the Library in WH 212.

Office of Disability Services

Red Cedar Hall building room RCH-114  917-4789  e-mail ODS@linnbenton.edu.    Students who may need accommodations due to documented disabilities, who have medical information which the instructor should know, or who need special arrangements in an emergency, should speak with instructors during the first week of class.  If you have not accessed services and think you may need them, please contact Disability Services, 917-4789.  The ODS support lab is in Red Cedar Hall room RCH-114.  There are Reader services,  Large print college materials and many other services to help you succeed.   You may qualify for assistance with note takers or other special equipment to help you be successful with your studies.   Feel free to drop by and see how they might help you succeed with your classes.

Vehicles left overnight in the parking lot may be towed.
