  • Asbestos Operations & Maintenance Plan - LBCC guidelines for preventing exposure to asbestos-containing materials (ACM), training requirements for job types that may come in contact with ACM, maintenance guidelines, and locations of ACM and PACM on main campus.

  • Bloodborne Pathogens Plan - Employee  - The plan addresses employees who may have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens such as the hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), and the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).  It addresses engineering and work practice controls and a post-exposure evaluation processes for employees who have risk of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.  
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Plan - Student - The plan addresses students in academic programs who may "reasonably anticipate" exposure to bloodborne pathogens such as the hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), and the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) while on campus and performing their academic duties. It addresses engineering and work practice controls and post-exposure evaluation processes for students who have such exposure risks. Students doing clinical practicum or cooperative work experience at an off-campus site are covered under the Employee Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Plan.
  • Chemical Hygiene Plan - In accordance with OSHA Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1450 and OR-OSHA Division 2/Z), the following program establishes policies, procedures, equipment, personal protective equipment and work practices to protect employees from the health hazards presented by hazardous chemicals used in the LBCC Physical Sciences laboratories.  
  • Confined Space Program - Designed to protect employees, student workers, and/or contractors from the dangers associated with work in or around confined spaces. The protocols in this program are required to minimize the risk associated with confined space entry.
  • Contractor Safety Program - As a condition of providing services at LBCC, all contractors’ employees shall review the information contained in this document, print and sign their name, date, and return it to the Public Safety Office (RCH 119).  This Contractor Compliance Verification form must be submitted annually by individuals performing work at LBCC properties.
  • Crane Safety Program - Deisgned to provide LBCC employees with guidance pertaining to use of cranes and to provide an overview of the OSHA standards regrading crane use.
  • Fall Protection Plan - (draft plan pending review and approval) When an employee is exposed to a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which is six feet or more above the lower surface, he/she shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrails, a safety net system, or personal fall arrest systems.
  • Fire Prevention Program - Fire prevention measures reduce the incidence of fires by eliminating opportunities for ignition of flammable materials.
  • Hazard Communication Program - Linn-Benton Community College has implemented a Hazard Communication (HazCom) Program to protect its employees and student’s health and safety, and to comply with OAR437 Division 2, Subdivision Z (CFR 1910.1200 Hazard Communication). The following written HazCom Program has been implemented by Linn-Benton Community College (LBCC). This program outlines how LBCC will accomplish this plan.
  • Hot Work Program - Managing hot work and minimizing the risk of property loss caused by hot work involves education of management, employees, and contractors about the causes of hot work fires and explosions and factors that make them more severe.

  • Lockout/Tagout Program- This program covers “Lockout/Tagout,” which is required by OSHA in its standard on Control of Hazardous Energy.
  • Noise Exposure & Hearing Conservation Program - OSHA requires employers to administer an effective Hearing Conservation Program whenever employee noise exposure equals or exceeds an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) sound level of 85 decibels. 
  • Personal Protective Equipment Program - In compliance with the OSH General Duty Clause, Section 5(a)(1), Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) has developed the Personal Protective Equipment Program (PPE) to provide and ensure the safety of its employees when there may be exposure to physical or health hazards in the workplace and such hazards may not feasibly be controlled, eliminated, or reduced to a safe level through administrative or engineering controls.
  • Radiation Safety Program - The LBCC Radiation Safety Program applies to all locations under LBCC control where radioisotopes or radiation-producing machines are used or stored, regardless of ownership or location.
  • Respiratory Protection Program - In accordance with OSHA 1910.132 and 1910.134, the LB Respiratory Protection Program establishes policies & procedures for the effective use of respirators to protect employees, students, & volunteers from harmful airborne contaminant exposures.
  • Safety Committee Awareness - The Safety Committee is mandated by OAR 437-001-0765 as an advisory committee for safety education, hazard communication, hazard identification, and risk assessment and reduction at Linn-Benton Community College and will comply with all rules governing safety committees within OAR 437, Division One. The committee is charged by the college with the purpose of enhancing the safety culture at the college by thinking strategically about college-wide safety and loss prevention issues and to make policy and procedural recommendations to the Vice President Finance and Operations regarding safety and health issues.
