Don't Be A Victim

LBCC Public Safety Department strives to provide a safe and secure college environment.

LBCC Public Safety provides:

  • Victimization avoidance information
  • First aid station
  • Jump start battery pack for your use (free of charge)
  • Lost and found property returns

Please remember to:

  • Lock vehicle and keep all valuables out of sight
  • Walk in groups when possible
  • Walk in well-lighted areas
  • Have keys ready before you arrive at your vehicle
  • Don’t look like a victim - walk briskly and with confidence
  • Always be aware of your surroundings
  • Report all suspicious activity, crimes, and incidents of concern via the online reporting form, by calling the Public Safety Office at x4440, or coming into the office at Red Cedar Hall Rm. 119.
  • Register your vehicle with the Public Safety Office (free of charge)

Stalking, Dating Violence, and Personal Violence:

  • Nationally, 1 in 8 college women report being stalked in the last 6-9 months. Stalking may include but is not limited to unwanted phones calls, emails, letters, or visits; being watched from afar; having someone waiting for you outside a building or room; being followed; and/or other similar behaviors.
  • Nationally, 32% of students report dating violence by a previous partner and 21% by a current partner
  • All staff and new students must take the training called Personal Empowerment Through Self-Awareness (click to access training). This training addresses the issues of sexual assault, staking, dating violence, and personal violence as it relates to the college experience.
